THE WORKFLOW
"In the night, the walk trough the forest can be as enchanting as scary. The familiar sounds transform, senses sharpen. You can see and hear more, even you don't see or hear anything. Every movement makes so much noise, that you want to stop and enjoy the incredible silence around you. But the wind blows, something cracks.. Must keep walking."

AUGUST // 2017
I have begun working on a 7 min long short film.
Right now I am doing animation tests and trying out an animation technique, that I have never used before - painting on glass. And it is amazing - the animation looks so alive. Must admit that it is challanging to put nicely togehter the animation that is drawn on computer and the animation painted on glass.

OCTOBER 27th // 2017 // recording the voices
Sound designer: Ģirts Bišs
Voices: Ieva Segliņa, Ģirts Krūmiņš
When you sit in the darkness by the candlelight, every idea seems so deep - the bright light dazzles your sight and your thoughts. In Night Walks dad fantasizes about the light and laws of logic. This is a special moment. Dad really enjoys that he has this kind of philosophical conversation with his little daughter. To capture it, we decided firstly, record the actors before starting animating - to let the actors play around with their roles. This way I could find some wonderful nuances that I could add in the animation. And secondly, we recorded actors together to have action - reaction. The way the dad talks affects the daughter and vice versa.
